Overview of the Candidates
I have done some research on all the candidates that are running for president in 2008. I have view their policies on different issues and have grown to make an opinion on all of the candidates.
Hillary Clinton looks like a strong candidate for president because she was married to an ex-president and has a lot of good ideas to help steer America in the right direction. Her views on education really bring me in because as a college student I would love to have it more affordable and because I have witness first hand the struggles of paying for a college education. John McCain with similar cuts in expenses plans on lowering taxes for middle class families. He tells what he wants to do but he really doesn’t explain how he is going to do it. But his ideas definitely make him a frontrunner over Mike Huckabee. Huckabee is a candidate in eyes that is mixing religion and politics too much. I feel that president should be unbiased and not make decisions on what he believes but what is good for the country. I feel a lot of people agree and that is why he losing the race. And last but not least, Barrack Obama. He is also a very strong candidate for president because he believes in change for the better. His views are solid and realistic. Bringing the troops home is one of the bigger topics and struggles that America is facing and his plan on bringing them home is what is making him a good candidate for President. I like most of the candidates and I have made my choice but I will no tell. Have you made yours?

Blog on McCain
McCain is another Republican that is running for President and is currently the frontrunner between Mike Huckabee and himself. I am going to talk about McCain’s views on taxes. (All information was gathered from johnmccain.com).
McCain has great views and ideas on lowering taxes. Everybody loves lower or no taxes. He promises to lower the middle class taxes by 60 billion dollars a year. For individual families this would be paying less of an average of 2,700 dollars a year. To middle class families, this is a lot of money. McCain seems to be very competitive, even when it comes to other countries. He wants to compete with other countries’ low taxes. He also wants to make it harder to raise taxes by having a majority rules by 3/5 congress votes. By cutting taxes he will forced to spend tax dollars more wisely. These will leave out unnecessary spending on the war which could lead to the end of the war.
McCain has other ideas on cutting takes for different things like cell phone tax and internet tax but I don’t know enough information on these other subjects to comment on them. But lowering taxes for the middle class will help people in the middle class stay in the middle class.

Blog on Huckabee
Mike Huckabee is another candidate that is running for president, even though as of now he is not the front runner and is losing to John McCain. I am going to talk about Huckabee’s views on marriage. He believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman. He got an amendment passed in Arkansas only allowing heterosexual marriages. He believes that having this amendment passed it would lower the divorce rate and single mothers with low income. He also says that this would help in the war against terror because “what’s the point of keeping the terrorists at bay in the Middle East if we can't keep decline and decadence at bay here at home?” (Quote from Mike Huckabee’s website).
Huckabee is not getting the support that he wants probably because he is expressing too many religious views when he runs for President. Too much church in the government could lead to too many mistakes. For Example, going to war over religious believes and stopping people from having free religion in the United States. These could be very steep examples but not letting two people that love each other get married just because a bible said marriage is between a man and a woman is a little ridiculous to me.

Blog on Obama
Barrack Obama seems to be the front runner so far as of Feb. 13 2008, but not by much. I am taking the time now to research one of Obama’s issues he is fighting against. This particular blog is going to be about Obama and his views on the war. The following information was gathered from his website, barrackobama.com.
Barrack Obama opposed the war back in 2002 when we first started to go to war. He was brave enough to speak out against it when the president was given power to decide if we should go to war or not. In 2005 he called for a withdrawal of troops and has been requesting this till this day. His plans on ending the war are to remove one or two combat troops a month for 16 months. He will keep some troops in there to protect the embassy and if the al Qaeda begins to build bases we will have troops there to carry out strike attacks.
This is a good and effective way to stop the war. Slowly bringing troops home shows that we are not permanently there to stay, but we are there to help. Also it shows that we are not just giving up and leaving to many unnecessary troops there could be threatening. Overall it is a good and realistic idea that can be carried out if Obama was President.

Hillary Clinton
I am not that big on politics as many other people are. So I am taking this opportunity to study up on the candidates that are running for president. I am going to start my research on Hillary Clinton and her views on education. She seems to be all for education and especially for the handicap. On her official website she talks about getting children with special needs free, appropriate education. The plan that caught my attention was beliefs in college education. She plans on increasing the Pell Grant and setting up a graduation fund so it will help motivate people to stay in school. She is basically trying to cut the cost of a college education and build rewards for the students that do graduate. On top of cutting costs she is also trying to increase teacher’s salaries because she knows the importance of Nation’s future education. From reading her website I feel that she could be someone I could vote for because college does cost a lot of money and cutting costs would create a more equal playing field for good education for all children. I can’t wait to do more research on Hillary and the other opponents.

This is awesome, but i bet there is a catch. The class isn't over yet, so she better NOT give any work out because that would rune my day!

Work?
Now that my school year is winding down, a lot of projects are do and around the same time too. It's good that the year is almost down but bad because that all late assignments should be done and finals are coming and projects are due. And all I want to do is video games, but I guess I got all summer to do that.
